Healing Educational Communities through an Integrated Approach for Advancing Equity, Social Emotional Learning, Trauma Healing, Wellness, and Self-Care
Alisha De Lorenzo MS, NCC, LPC, SAC is the Founding Owner of Living YES, LLC and The Living YES Foundation. Created from her passion and commitment to education, social justice, mental health and contemplative practices, Alisha takes a healing-centered approach to systemically address individual and collective trauma and build the emotional literacy of all members of the school, family and community.
Alisha received her Baccalaureate degree in Movement Sciences and Education and has worked in public education as a teacher and Student Assistance Counselor for almost 20 years. Most recently, she served as New Jersey's first Social Emotional Learning Coordinator designing and implementing an "Integrative Education" model.
She received her Masters degree in Psychological Counseling from Monmouth University, NJ and has been trained in an integrative mental health model. She uses conventional and complementary approaches through a body-centered lens to help clients access physical, emotional and spiritual freedom. Identity and healing are centered on the therapeutic journey rather than left to the margins.
Alisha is currently the Interim Deputy Director for Garden State Equality, NJ's largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization.
In addition, she has been trained in the Baptiste methodology and is certified in kids yoga through the Baptiste Institute.
Alisha is an experienced facilitator and keynote speaker who has provided quality professional development on Social Emotional Learning, Mindfulness, Leadership, Trauma, Equity and Mental Health at the local, national and international levels. She is a trusted partner to the New Jersey Department of Education, New Jersey School Boards Association, New Jersey Education Association, New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, ASAP-NJ, NJ-ASCD, NJAHPERD and the United States Army to name a few. Alisha has had the honor of working with many school districts throughout New Jersey and beyond.
She has been recognized for her dedication to the mental health field and for her community organizing by receiving the Award of Excellence from the United States Army, Outstanding Alumni Award from Monmouth University, Outstanding Community Activism Award from the Monmouth County Latino American Society and the NJ Governor's Educational Service Professional of the Year Award by the New Jersey Department of Education. She is most proud of the honor of raising her two young boys.
